Since everyone else is doing it, I shouldn't add on

Since everyone else is complaining about the extra higher chinese lessons we're having until we have our 'O' level chinese paper on next wednesday, I shouldn't add on. Since everyone else is complaining/posting their results on their blog, I shouldn't do that too. So that actually left me with nothing to blog about, but still I have found something interesting to talk about.

Recently my sister found a website of a resturant and one of the drinks the resturant offers is named "Pussy Foot". That is interesting. I swear I'll try it if I ever got the chance. Since people call CoCa Cola "Coke" , imagine you telling the waiter " can I have a cup of "Pussy"? " and the waiter telling you, "Sorry to keep you waiting, here's your "Pussy"."

I don't know if you had read the newsletter that the school had given to us, but if you had noticed on the last page of the newsletter, on one of the pictures from the chocolate making event in my school, it says, "Mother and son having fun with chocolate together." Horny~

Lastly, if you think I'm going to wish you good luck for the upcoming 'O' levels chinese (or mother tongue if you prefer to be politically correct. duh) ............................ you're totally right. Good Luck.

Science Challenge at Nanyang Poly

My class went to Nanyang Poly today to watch the people from my class take part in the Science challenge held by all the Polys in Singapore. It's quite obvious that they wanted to promote Engineering to us, without having to watch much of the other content of the day. You can see that just by listening to all the speech by all the Guest Of Honors. There was dance and singing performance putted up for us before the guest of honor arrive, a girl performed "Irreplaceable", and the dance was performed twice(when the emcees asked us if we wanted to watch it again, it's obvious that we didn't want to, but the guy forced us to watch), because the guests are really late.

After all the speeches, it was the competition, and the three guys(Bing Ru, Yong Ting and Nicholas) in my class won it. I must say I really respect this three guys, because the questions that were asked were really difficult (the type of questions that I might not even get the answer after thinking about it for a day, and this three guys did it in the limited time of 15 seconds, and got more than half of it correct) There was a draw between our school and another random one after the 30+ questions, and they got the extra question correct to become the Champion. (but they later admitted that they got the last question correct by using the dice function in their calculator, however, there's still no doubt about their ability)

After the competition, there was a speech and drama performance about time travel, but it was quite boring, then there is the prize giving, then a great performance by a band , I don't know if it's the band of the school, but they are really professional, they played some kind of Samba music (a type of brazilian music), but I'm not sure whether it is(it sounds like it to me) Then they put up two performances of the Samba music, and then one entertaining performance with all the funny music that you always hear in movies. I was hoping the emcee will come out and make us watch the performance again, but he didn't. After the performances, there was buffet and after eating, we visited the little shopping centre in the school, which is rather random, and we went back to the auditorium for the lucky draw.

Finally, I must talk about the generous prize given out. The Champions won $1000 and a Motorola handphone for each. Then there was the lucky draw, where 5 Ipod shuffle was given out, and two girls from my class got it. There's also the Motorola lucky draw, which I had taken part in, but I didn't get any of the two Motorola RAZR or the Motorola ROKR. What a generous sponsor!

Detergent commercials

I don't understand why all detergent or other cleaning products love to have crappy commercials, and there's only four types(as far as I can think of) of them. Sometimes I really don't understand why they cannot come out with anything else.

1. They will dirty your clothes for no reason and then introduce you the cleaning product

One of the commercial I remember is two woman going up to a random passerby and then dirty her clothes with some things(without any reason) and then tell her "don't be afraid, we'll clean it for you", then they sort of help take off her jacket and then put it on a table, draw a circle with a lipstick and soak it in some soap water, and then it's clean(and the passerby will look very happy, with her wet and most probably soapy jacket). How is it possible?! I mean if someone really did that, he/she will most likely get some beatings.

2. Some superman type of cartoon that sells cleaning products

The commercial will start with a random person complaining that she can't clean something off completely, and this "superman" will appear. I can imagine what will happen if a person like this really appeared.

Auntie: I can't clean this stain off completely!

"Superman" Cartoon(appears out of nowhere): Don't worry, you can clean it off completely with the latest XXX!

Auntie: AHHH!!!! WHO IS THIS FREAK!!!! *grabs broom and start beating the hell out of the "superman"*

3. Scare your wife will be angry?

This type of commercials always starts with showing a guy dirtying his clothes and then someone(out of nowhere again) with ask the guy if he's afraid that his wife will be angry because she'll have to clean his clothes, then the talking voice will introduce the product to him.

4. Protest

This commercial is still showing on TV now, so maybe you can try catching it on TV. It's the magiclean commercial. It shows a bunch of random people protesting just because they can't clean stains off their sink or wall completely or the dirty stuff returns a few days after cleaning. Then a minister appears and introduce the new product to them. Nothing much to say about this commercial, but I think it's really lame. (sad to say, the commercial is made in Singapore)

However, most of the crap commercials come from our beloved neighbour across the causeway, whom I think is infamous for their ability to think. Not.

So we can't blame them, can we?

And the next time you want to try spotting a malaysian commercial, look out for the people they use, most of them are people who looks like mixture of malay and chinese.

Still, there are good commercials around, so to end off the post, there's two commercials that I think is quite good, and most of you might have seen it before.

P/S: I have been asked to do a quiz on my blog(again), but I'm not going to do it, because I'm lazy, and most importantly all this quiz are lame.

My birthday celebrations!

My birthday celebrations was almost a month ago but I didn't blog about it due to the upcoming exams at that time(and yes! finally it's over today), so I should blog about it now.

PART 1

I went to orchard road with my mother and sister and ate at a indonesian restuarant. It's called The Rice Table. The buffet was great, most of the dishes are very nice, but some are too spicy. Here's some pictures of the food.
yup, that's me drinking the chicken soup.

There's the great satay and sweet and sour fish.
The tahu telor is good too~

After all the eating, we went shopping at the malls there, we went to Isetan(because we got a voucher from our aunt and we thought we should use it) , but bought nothing, because nothing there was appealing to us. I got my present there too, which should appear in the part 2 of my birthday celebrations.

PART 2

And this is the present I got at orchard. A Foxtrot comic book! It's a great comic, but the price is...(it cost $30++ for this book), but I think it's worth the quality.

On the exact day of my birthday, I had the second part of my birthday celebrations. Here's some pictures of the food.

Food bought from outside and the great home-made fried prawn by my mom~

My birthday cake ( the coco exotic from Four Leaves)

My second birthday present from my sister!

Luckily there's no birthday bash this year...or I'll probably lose another shirt again. (The PE T-shirt I wore for the birthday bash last year now still smell of creamy strawberry smell.).
