Always so morally upright eh?

I don't know why, but I think I'm starting to like my school principal, because she never fails to interest me, as in...the disgusting way. And I finally understand how the school chooses their prefects, they chooses the good boys and girls, and most importantly, the always so "Morally Upright" ones. The school almost made a wrong move by offering to have me as a prefect when I'm in secondary one. I mean they are definitely right about me being a good boy(don't you agree?) but I think if I have accepted the offer to be a prefect, I would have thrown the prefect badge back at the principal when she banned all the fried food in the school canteen.

Anyway, let's come back to what happened this week, about how I found out how "Morally Upright" the prefects in my class are. On the front door of my classroom, there were two piece of paper pasted on it that says "Toilet" with a arrow pointing into my classroom. I thought it was a pretty nice joke which one of my classmate had made, he took the paper (which is suppose to direct people to the toilet) off a wall and left it on the front door. However, when the great principal of the school walk past my class, she saw the paper, and torn it off so violently like it's some embarrassing poster featuring her face.

However, she didn't realise that on the other door there's another piece of it, and then the prefects in my class started showing how "Morally Upright" they are by starting to flood the guy sitting nearest to the door with comments like "I think you better take off the other one" , "ya, better take it off", and the guy, being one easily affected and also one of those who likes to be "Morally Upright", took off the other piece.

I think little jokes like this won't do any harm, but the prefects in my class are acting as if the principal's going to cane us or something if she found out there's another one. This is the type of people who the principal likes the most, she can bully them in any way she likes, and they would say she did the right thing. How pathetic.

A Sad Truth

I wonder if anyone have noticed this: As we go down the generations, the standard of many things go down too. This is obvious in the Annual Sports Day held at the Choa Chu Kang Stadium by my school on friday. My house, Krestrel was ranked at fifth position(the second last) , even though we didn't win any race, I thought we could at least pull some points back with our cheering during the cheering competition. However, I believe there was only a pathetic amount of people really doing their best. I thought those pathetic people who didn't cheer their best was stupid, can't you cheer for your house for just once a year, what's so hard about it?

My sister was in the same house as me when she was in Kranji, and she said almost every year Krestrel would be either first or second, and last year we got second, yet we got such a big drop this year. I really don't feel the juniors wanting to do their best for their house at all. I doubt Krestrel can achieve good results in the next few years. Then there was the Uniformed Groups relay race, which I thought was a good idea, because UGs always like to complete between themselves.

If there was suppose to be a competition(I mean competition in terms of standard, not a relay race) between the UGs a few years ago(like 7 or 8 years) , I believe there is no UG in kranji who can win NPCC in terms of standard, but now the NPCC standard have dropped over the years, both in the cadets and the Officers, so there is seriously no guarantee who will be better.

The people from the older generations seems to be stronger, both physically and emotionally, and I think sometimes they make better friends too. Sometimes I think it would have been better being born earlier.

Friends?

How many of you would proudly say that you have found yourself a real best friend? I believe the amount of people who will do that must be rather pathetic. Especially in our current generation. Out of my friends, I can say only one didn't disappoint me. Maybe because we share the common interest, but at least he still remembers me. There's a few questions that I will like to ask you people.

Would you want to make your friends look inferior to you by treating them like some fool? I wouldn't.
Would you go back to look for you old best friend when you have found yourself a new one? I would.
Would you stay by your friends side when they appear to be unhappy? I would.

Sometimes thinking for others doesn't mean you'll get the same treatment back. Seriously, how many people nowadays will think for other's feelings? People tend to neglect other people's feelings and only care for their own feelings. Here's an example.

When this guy is happy, but his friend seems to be unhappy on that day, this guy will not care at all, he would just go on to play basketball and enjoy his day while thinking that a few "Are you ok?" will do the job of cheering his friend up. However, when he's sad , he will expect his friend to accompany him. Isn't this disgusting?

If you friend asks you to accompany him/her to eat during recess, but you have a test to study for the next day, would you accompany him/her or would you rather study for your test?

If I really had to study for a test for the next day, and my friend come asking me if I can accompany him/her to eat as there was no one with him/her, I would take my book along and be with my friend as he/she eats and I study.

I'm not perfect, but at least I am able to think for people.

I think I've seen enough for the past few months, and here's a piece of advice to you people. Before you do something, think of your own reaction when someone did the same thing to you. Are you comfortable with it? If you are, then by all means do it then.

If you want to be a good friend, be one in the real life, some occasional words of encouragement on someone's blog will mean bullshit if you have been a lousy friend in real life.
