You call that cute!?

I realised that recently people like to take pictures of random kids and put them on your blog and say that they are cute. It will might be alright if they are indeed cute, but it will be kind of weird if they are not cute and you said they are. And what's with all the "How I wish he's my brother" thing? Maybe some of you bimbos will think that by doing this will make you appear cute or sweet, but please at least find a really cute kid, not just any random one. Sometimes I just don't understand why people's standard can be so low, so I decided to help make you people have higher standard. Now look carefully, this is what I call cute.

Somebody's being naughty!

In contrast with the low standard, some people in my class has high level of selfishness. I noticed this during my Physics SPA practical this wednesday. I didn't have a graph paper to draw my graph, so I had to borrow it from others. First I approached a guy and asked if he could give one graph paper as he got two of it, but he insisted that he needs it. Then I approached a second guy, who told me "Graph paper ah!? don't have already!". However, his fast response made me wonder if he had been speaking the truth. After that I went to asked around for graph paper until a guy told me that he can tell me who has it, but I must not tell that guy that it's him who told me about it. Then I agreed and then I approached that guy, who turns back to stare at that guy who told me about it and with a bit of unwillingness took out two graph paper and gave one to me.

After that I was kind of confused why some people insisted on keeping two graph papers for themselves, and so I asked the Cheung Weng (the guy sitting beside me) why do people keep two graph papers for themselves. I was told that people did tht so that when they draw the wrong graph, they can just redraw on a second paper without having to erase the graph. Having drawn graphs for more than three years, never have I thought of doing this before. Maybe if it's the real O' level exam I may be able to understand, but this is only a bloody practice without time limit, would erasing a graph do any harm to you? Another thing is that some people who didn't order the Reader's Digest in my class took the Reader's Digest that some of my class people ordered(including me). And because of that, I didn't get my February issue. How could someone take something that doesn't belong to him/her!? That guy should have asked to borrow it! Whoever that guy is, there is one thing I'm sure about, that idiot have left me feeling extremely disgusted by his actions.

Finally, I don't know why, but recently quite a number of people have been crazy over the Rubik's Cube. They have been trying to solve it, as if solving it will prove that you're a genius. It would be perfectly alright if you toy around with that thing once in a while and when you have nothing to do, but why are some of you playing with that thing even during lessons? Will it prove your ability? I seriously doubt so.

Chinese New Year Celebrations

It was three straight days of celebrations and it has also been three days ever since I felt hungry (you always feel full during Chinese New Year due to the goodies, right?). On Wednesday, I had reunion dinner with my family, and also received my first Ang Bao of the year. On Thursday, I had to visit my father's side relatives in the morning. Nothing much happened there, but this is the first time I saw someone wearing a scarf in Singapore. One of my younger relative wore a scarf despite the hot weather, but maybe a bimbo like her, even though she's two years my senior, hasn't realise that Singapore doesn't experience the four seasons. In the afternoon, my relatives from my mother's side(this are the relatives that I like more) came to my house and we had steamboat for dinner. We also gamble a little (we played the game where everyone gets three poker cards and you add up the number on each card and take the digit at the back, and the person with the biggest number wins. The biggest number is 10 and the even bigger one is three picture cards), I had $16 as my budget and each round cost me $2. I won the first round with three picture cards but I start losing later. In the end, I still made a profit of about $40, while my sister made a profit of about $80.

On Friday, I went to my grandma's house(my mother's side) and we had KFC and Mcdonald for Lunch. After that we gambled again but I wasn't as lucky today as I lost all the money that I brought, which is $22 and my sister loss around $30. After all the gambling, I realised that I only won about 1 or 2 games in 10 games played, so this shows the ugly side of gambling.

Today, I went out in the afternoon with Dexter and Chin Seng to watch the movie, CJ 7.We had planned to watch the movie at Jurong Point, but there's only the front row tickets left, so to avoid having our necks broken during Chinese New Year, we decided to go to Jurong East to watch the movie. We got the tickets for the 3:15 time slot and we played a bit of Arcade before going into the theater. The movie was not as funny as Stephen Chow's past movies, in fact it was more serious. Maybe because he's getting old and would like to try something more mature. Still, the movie was not bad, and I believe it's a rather good movie compare to other movies that's showing at this time.

After that we went home and my relatives from my mother's side came to our house to celebrate my Grandma's 69th birthday. We bought Cze Char from the coffee shop beside my house for dinner. The Cze Char was great but I was a little disappointed when my uncles didn't mention gambling, so I can't recoup my losses.

Happy Chinese New Year!!!

It's the day before Chinese New Year and we had celebrations in school, but the concert wasn't very well organised. It may be my last year celebrating Chinese New Year in Kranji and yet they have to do this to me. I think the current principal is determined to make my last year here not perfect, first she banned all my favourite food in the canteen and now she did this.

In the morning, there was performance by a China lion dance troupe, and it was good, after that we went on to decorate our classrooms for the class decoration competition before going to the hall for the concert.

The concert was kind of boring and have hardly any climax. The dance performance was not bad, the singing by the parents support group and some teachers was not very well done, the flute and gu zhen performance was good, but kind of boring, the performance by the eight-person choir was bad, as the members of the choir was desperately trying to bring up the atmosphere in the hall, but failed terribly, and the mask changing performance was ok, only that the person made some mistakes. The only climax of the concert was when a elderly from a old folks home (they came to see the concert today) went up to the stage and sang a chinese new year song. She sounded strong and the cheers she got was the loudest out of all the performance in the concert. I think her performance was the best performance in the concert.

My class won the class decoration competition and I think it came as a surprise, but we did put in quite a lot of effort, so I think we do deserve the win.

First time experiences

It was only a week, and I had so many first time experiences. Allow me to start with the first one that I got this week. This one happened on Friday and it was the Geography period after recess. We were supposed to go to the container classrooms for the lessons, and before that our class chairperson, Yvonne was called up to do something, so she will be late for the lesson. Our teacher gave us some notes to fill in, and as we were filling in the notes, Yvonne and Adeline came in. When our teacher ask them if they got their notes, they said no and then they went up to get their notes. When our teacher asked why no one took the notes for them, Yvonne added more comments and said this.

"Cher, they always like that one! This class no compassion one!".

I can understand that you are irritated that no one took the notes for you, but now imagine that I am instead the person late for the lesson, and the teacher gave you new notes, would you have taken the notes for me? I doubt so, considering sometimes you can even forget to tell me that there's no more notes for me when the notes is passed down the row(when I sit behind you during English lessons).

And when she said that comment, half the class she's insulting is there. This is the first time I heard someone insult his/her class in front of the class. However, Yvonne might be right about this, that the people in this class has no feelings, because when they were insulted, there was completely no reaction from them at all.

The next first time experience happened on the same day, that is the debrief session I had with the secondary four NPCC squad. I was supposed to do this with Min Yan, but maybe because she's not prepared for it, so I had to do this myself, as I had quite some things to say. I started with the QM (Quarter Master)issue , who 's in charge of the NPCC room, as I noticed that one of them had not done her job, and it's always the male QM doing the job, so I made one of them be the main QM for each training, for example, the male QM will the main QM for this week, and the female QM will be the main QM for next week, while the free QM can get to play during the training, or they will have to do the job together.

And I continued with the Attendance issue, which is basically to find out the main In-Charge of the attendance. I was told it's the Parade Orderly's job, but my Teacher Officer told me it's actually the Admin's job, so there's still some things to clear out during the next training. I quickly carried on with the discipline problem. Just because there's now a "Discipline Master" post, which is taken by Yu Xuan and Me, all the squad NCOs don't seems to want to scold their Juniors, and they like doing this. When I am behind the squad or just walked pass them, the NCOs will sometimes come to me and suddenly give me the task of scolding the juniors.

Please don't do this ever again, because I seriously need time to think about what I want to say. And so I told everyone that all of them can scold or discipline the squad, so hopefully they won't push all the discipline stuff to me and not do anything about it themselves.

Today our squad went to Pulau Ubin for the High Ropes Challenge, and I had my first try at the Dango Dual thing, the one with 6 thick logs separated from one another and hanging in the air and you have to try your best to climp all the way up. I also tried Flying Fox, which is seven storeys high, and When you start going down, you'll have the same feeling as taking the Pirate Ship at Escape themepark, but after a while you'll start to turn around, and you back would be facing the side that's going forward, so you will not have the Pirate Ship feeling anymore, so it's not exactly that exciting.

After lunch, it's was raining not stop, so we had to be in the shelter and after cheering and playing some not-very-fun-games for like 2546764 years, the Sirs had no choice but to let us go home early. This might be the last time I'll be coming to Pulau Ubin, taking the Run boat, and visiting the NPCC campsite there, so it's kind of sad, as I do have some memories there. This was also most likely the last time the sec 4 squad is going to go out together for this kind of event, and we did well for everything there, including the cheers, so even though we didn't get to try much of the things there, at least we didn't screw the day up.

After that we took the boat back to Singapore, and went to eat at the Food Court beside the place we took the boat. Our teacher officer said that the Nasi Lemak at Changi is quite famous, so we tried Nasi lemak from different stalls to see which is the best. I chose one that says it's recommended by MakanSutra and some random green tea company, but the Nasi Lemak was not very good. The rice is normal, the fried chicken wing is hard, nothing special about the egg and Ikan Billis, and the Chilli is so common. Therefore, I was thinking, either the notices that says it's recommended is fake, or that funny guy on TV(the host of the show MakanSutra Raw) simply has bad taste.

As I went home today, I also tried being locked outside the house for the first time, as I didn't bring my keys and my mother is bathing, so I had to wait for around 10 minutes before I can go in. Trust me, it's not a good feeling, because it will be so weird if your neighbour sees you loitering outside your own house and not going in.
