Maybe I should give it a try again.

Yesterday I had NPCC training, and it's the first time my squad take over the unit. Everyone had a post, and I my post was DM(discipline and the other word I'm not sure), I was really confused and irritated by my post because I wasn't sure what am I suppose to do, people kept asking me to shout, but I'm not used to doing that. My job was just to scream at people? When I shout, people will ignore me, because they didn't know that was my job, they thought I was just some "nothing-to-do" random guy whose trying to act like a leader. I thought there should be some kind of introduction or something like this, so that at least they know what we are doing.

I felt so screwed up yesterday, because I didn't know what was the point of having DMs, most of our duties are suppose to be done by squad NCOs, but after a little talk with my mother about my post in NPCC, I finally understand more about the responsibilities of my post, even though I screwed it up on the first time, I think I should give it another try in the next training. And don't mistaken me, I'm not asking for a change of post.

This is just basically a summary of this week. Last Sunday, I went out with my sister to watch Transformers, and we met some weird people on the way. In the LRT, a girls came in while listening to her MP3, and she actually sang along in the LRT, and she was not really singing, just mumbling, and I believe she must be seriously out of tune. At the last stop, just before we get out of the LRT, an auntie behind us burped several times and it was really loud. I was so glad we were getting out.

I must say the movie was great. Some people may think it's only for kids, but I don't think so. The movie was so interesting that there's not a moment when you can turn away from the screen and drink from your drink. The effects were great, quite some funny parts and quite some sarcasm (mostly about the US government). I would suggest those who haven't seen it to quickly get your tickets or you'll have to wait for the VCD or DVD to be out, but I think it's a pity if you don't watch this movie in the cinema, you'll need the loud sound effects and the big screen.

After that we went for lunch and went home to watch the charity show on channel 8 at night. All the performances was ok, except the not-really-funny performances by the DJs of Love 97.2 fm and the rather lame "hand dance" performances by some male artists.

On monday, everyone was discussing about the Harry Potter's fifth movie, I heard it's quite a failure, I just hope the following ones can be better. On tuesday, we have our Chemistry common test, I really want to do well for the test, but I don't think there's a need to study it whole day long, for example, my classmate Chee Keong who study it during recess, during lessons time and basically whole day long.

I'm really irritated by the 13 year old kid in the campus superstar competition, I really don't understand why some people say that he's cute, he's not cute at all! And he really talk like a gay in his blog. Here's some photos that shows why he's not cute. NPCC Adventage Training camp 2

This was my second time going to Pulau Ubin for the camp. We went for the camp during the december holidays last year with schools from area 20, but this year we are going with schools from area 8 (schools like Pasir Ris Crest, Hai Sing Catholic...). We are purpose to go on Friday, but I some of us had a quiz competition for NPCC, so we had to go on saturday morning. We took bus to the jetty and reached the island, but it was raining heavily and so we had to wait at the jetty. When the rain stopped, we took vans into the campsite. (we had to walk a long way in last year)

We were divided into 8 groups (I was in group 8) and we soon had our first activities, which is tunneling. We had to pass through this completely dark tunnel, and then we had lunch, the ration are completely the same( the water there still taste as weird as ever), except that there's additional tissue paper. After that we had pioneering, where we tied a structure that can be used for transport(carry people around). After that we had Rafting, we were suppose to have Kayaking, but this year they brought the activity down for the secondary 2s. We tied another structure with four big plastic air-filled containers, to ensure it doesn't sink when left on water. 10 of us were suppose to sit on the raft, but everyone was so desperate to get into the sea that the life jackets were gone in a second. Our structure didn't sink, but all the people still got wet.

After that it was wash-up+dinner time, after that we had campfire, when we 're almost cheering all the time. After that it was area cleaning, then it was time for lights out, but we called to assemble again. We were scolded because some people left the soap and solid fuel (which was poisonous) with the mass tins that we use for cooking. We only get to sleep at round midnight. The tent were already pitched for us, but the tent we slept in were wet, so we had to sleep on ponchos.

The next morning we had area cleaning (my group have to unpitch the tents), then group 7 and my group got the best group award, and our reward were two packet of rations. I must say it's all thanks to my group members. There was cheering and "bombing" at any free time at the campsite, but I just don't enjoy it as much as some people does.

We took vans to the jetty, and went to lot 1 for lunch and I went home to watch "Live Earth" , but it was rather boring, maybe because I don't know most of the performers. Nothing much happened on this week, so I think I should end my post here.

Save the Earth!!

I changed the background colour of my blog to green because of the "live earth" thing. I always thought the global warming problem is our next generation's problem, but no, I read somewhere that if we don't start saving the earth, it would be too late after ten years. However, it's hard to start, we are too used to our lifestyle nowadays. I have to go to pulau ubin tomorrow morning for my Adventure Training Camp. Looking at the activities that we have for tomorrow make me don't feel like going for the camp. I don't understand why it's arranged at this time, when we have homework and chinese O' level oral coming up. Great timing.

Still, there's a piece of good news, I got to know from shu fen's blog that Miss Natasha is getting married! Cool~ Congratulations!

Goodbye National stadium.

I had a few more tiring fancy drill training before friday and the Passing Out Parade is finally over. The seniors said we have done a great job with the fancy drill and we might even be performing it on national day! The performances after the parade and fancy drill wasn't very sucessful, thanks to the problems with the laptop. Most of the time the sec fours have to make noise themselves. However, it's still a happy ending and we performed fancy drills again.

I was on duty on saturday for the Cultural Fiesta thing. I had no choice but to wear my uniform without washing it. I had to hold a piece of paper that says "Alumi and Ex-Kranjian" and had a arrow pointing towards the hall, but most of the time I was ignored. After 8 am, there's no one else coming so I get to watch the performances. The sec 1 and 2 folk dance was just ok. The real perfomances came later at the hall. The kranji idols were good, the open category dancing competition was great, I really like the performances of the champion and the 1st runner up. After all the performances, I went for soccer, and went home early for a nap before the big match between Singapore and Australia.

Singapore lost by 3 goals, it's not that they didn't play well, but they are really unlucky. After that, it's was time for the closing ceremony of the natonal stadium. This moment was suppose to make people cry, but I didn't feel anything after all the talkings and song and videos, somehow, this ending is not good enough. I would rather continue using the national stadium than have a new sports hub.
